چکیده

The aim of this work is to investigate the effect exhaust gas recirculation (EGR: water vapor and CO2), with without O2 enrichment, on non-premixed turbulent flames stabilized a swirl burner. motivation includes CO2 capture applications using CO2, combustion biogas that containing use EGR or H2O in certain industrial reduce pollutant emissions. Experiments were carried out coaxial burner placed chamber 25 kW nominal power. oxidant (air-O2, + H2O, CO2) introduced annular part though swirler. fuel (CH4) fed central tube injected radially at exit section. study focuses laminar burning velocity, emissions, flame stability, flow fields measurements different fractions O2, mixture. fraction diluents varied from 0 20%, concentration 21 25% (in vol.) number 0.8 1.4. Different are recorded: OH* chemiluminescence locate front, Stereo-PIV analyze field, emissions analysis (NOx CO) temperatures chamber. Results show dilution significantly influences characteristics. Dilution increases lift-off height reduces stability especially high (16–20%), whereas enrichment decreases enhances stability. increase NOx CO reveals coherent structure swirling as well corresponding axial tangential velocities. underlying velocity determined by 1D calculation COSILAB GRI3.0 mechanism.

Modeling of Moderately Swirling Turbulent Non-premixed Flames

Even if the goal of reducing NOx emissions pushes towards the use of premixed combustion, moderately swirling turbulent non-premixed flames are still widely employed in both industrial furnaces and gas turbines, because of their stable and safe behaviour in a wide range of fuels and operating conditions. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) has become in recent years a key tool for the design of ...

Simulation of premixed turbulent flames

1. Introduction Premixed turbulent flames are of increasing practical importance and remain a significant research challenge in the combustion community. These flames have the potential to operate cleanly and efficiently over a broad range of fuels, and therefore to represent a key element in the implementation of low-emissions burners for a variety of industrial applications. However, it is di...

Three-scalar Imaging in Turbulent Non-premixed Flames of Methane

Raman scattering from nitrogen in laminar (Re 4 1600) and turbulent (Re 4 15,000) non-premixed flames of diluted methane has been investigated as a means of complementing the two-scalar mixturefraction computation based on measurements of fuel mass fraction and temperature (nFT). Using a diluent consisting of argon and oxygen with an overall volumetric dilution ratio of 3/1 (diluent/fuel) allow...
